I took a shot of this amazing grassland on the sideline during our DOST SME Assisted project documentary way back in the first quarter of 2011 using canon's entry-level digital SLR series - Canon 450D .

This land was and is the bread and butter of every farmer worker in the barangays’ old muscovado processing plant.

I was so happy with the output of the camera back then…

Photo composition

Every time I took a shot of a subject always follow a some certain rules such as the rule of thirds or the golden spiral/ratio rule for me to establish a better output in a much simplier and faster load of works to enjoy the most of the scenic view and feel nature at its best.

  1. Following the rule of thirds I’ve managed to divide the view from the sky, the ground which consist of the sugarcane farm the one in the middle with the farmer’s native house along with the bamboo(Kawayan) in the background and the cogon grass from where I was shooting at.
  2. With the rule of third’s guide I was able to set the secondary subject (Native house) applying the rule of third again.

Following the rule of third makes the job a lot easier with ample of time to enjoy  and interact with the locals along with the colleague in the field of documentary.

And even in the cover design and layouting it proved to be much simplier without any much of editing works.
